The ex-lawyer for the former president has resigned as the US Attorney for New Jersey. This decision was prompted by a legal ruling that challenged her right to occupy the role.

Attorney General's Statement

US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, announced Habba's resignation on Monday. In a statement that the judicial decision made it unworkable for the official to perform her duties.

"But do not mistake compliance for surrender," Habba stated. "The effort will now stretch across the nation."

Her resignation comes a week after a judicial panel ruled that she had been serving in violation of the law as the top prosecutor. This judgment is could influence scores of criminal cases in the state.
