Suspected Bondi Attackers Acted Independently and Did Not Undergo Training in the Southeast Asian Nation, Police State.

The two suspected individuals responsible for the deadly shooting at a Hanukkah gathering on Bondi Beach, resulting in 15 lives, appear to have been lone actors, according to Australian law enforcement.

Authorities further stated that Sajid Akram, 50, and his son Naveed Akram, 24, travelled to the Philippines on 1 November. Their travel plans involved landing in the main city Manila before connecting that same day to Davao City. The pair returned to Sydney on 29 November.

No Evidence of Preparation During Stay

Police assert the individuals did not undergo any type of attack-related training or "planning" during their time in the Philippines. Initial inquiries from Philippine officials point to they "mostly stayed in" their hotel.

The shooting—labeled as Australia's worst mass shooting since 1996—has been formally classified as a act of terrorism.

"We are actively analyzing the evidence," she said, noting that preliminary evaluations suggest that "these individuals are believed to have operated independently."

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett told media on Tuesday that surveillance material tracking the alleged gunmen's activities in the Philippines had been provided to Australian authorities.

"Our investigation shows no evidence to support the idea these alleged offenders were members of a broader terrorist cell, or were instructed by others to execute an attack," she said.
