Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who jumped a fence and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore.
A circulating footage depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade surrounded by onlookers.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by event staff.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram profile features videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.
"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.
Numerous fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more response on Instagram.
A number of attendees also criticised guards at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's uploads.
In videos shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.
Many of attendees had gathered in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as eight hours before it started.
The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a dual interpretation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two very different sorceresses.
The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé glittering gown at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.
They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of last year in the UK, and scored 10 award recognitions, winning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
