Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
